Arthritis of the joints
Aching, dull pain that gets worse with cold, damp and when laying down or sitting...
That's a common problem in the PNW for anyone who is facing their 50s and 60s. The bigger the joint the more taxing arthritis becomes, be it the hip joint, shoulder joint or the ever so hard to move SI (sacroiliac) joint. Common medical treatment is to prescribe NSAIDs but these don't offer a good long term solution due to their side effects.
If you experience aching, soreness, dullness or other pain in hips and low back you might find a lot of relieve when treating inflammation and muscle tension. Specially targeted exercises are a good way to limit medical intervention and when that doesn't help acupuncture can.
Acupuncture is able to give sustainable regression of inflammation without increasing your risk of cardiac arrest, stroke and most commonly gastrointestinal bleeding. Rather than exacerbating such problems acupuncture can reduce symptoms such as gastrointestinal distress, heart palpitations and other side effects induced by continuous use of NSAIDs.
